A Little Bit About!

The Sandbar and Beach House offer Gr8 Food and Fun on Ana Maria Island!

If you’re looking for a beautiful setting for a fantastic lunch or dinner on the Gulf of Mexico, look no farther than the Sandbar on Ana Maria Island (AMI – in case you see the bumper sticker). Off the central Florida coast, you can dine with your toes in the sand as the sun sets to the west on the Gulf. This restaurant and bar are definite bucket list items, that must be experienced by anyone who ventures to this part of the state.

Even though there are no docks and you can't beach your boat at this location, people often anchor to a very large sandbar walk across to this lovely spot. Otherwise, there is always ample parking at this phenominal location on Anna Maria Beach!

With toes in the sand, brilliant vistas and a great family atmosphere you are sure to create fantastic memories with us at the Sandbar. ~ Sandbar Website

Soak in all the beautiful colors from the lush green trees, white sand, and waters, glistening in various shades of Maya blue, Azur and Emerald. To enable your view, the Sandbar features comfortable outdoor seating with plenty of fans and sea breeze. Every table has a canopy or umbrella to keep you and your toes cool in the shaded sand.

Along with the fantastic setting, you will find the food and cold drinks to be very good. The menu offers Peel & Eat Shrimp, Oysters on the Half Shell, three or four daily caught fish, grilled, blackened, or fried, spiced shrimp, and calamari. For the land lover, the AMI Chicken Sandwich and Sandbar Hamburger are both very tasty. If you are adventurous, try the Gulf Octopus Escabeche in sweet brine with house-pickled Gamble Creek Farms vegetables. Fried plantains and green tomatoes are on the menu as well.

Just want a glass of wine, the Sandbar has more offerings on the beach than any other location in the region. Plenty of beer and numerous beach comber cocktails such as Bushwackers, Coladas, and Daiquiris. Try the Dreamsicle if your looking for something different.

From the Sandbar, you are just a short beach walk north, to the tip of Ana Maria Island. Here you will find the confluence of Tampa Bay, Manatee River and the Gulf of Mexico. Spectacular views of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge are seen from this location.

For a great late afternoon sunset, don’t miss this outstanding culinary delight on Ana Maria Island looking out over the Gulf of Mexico. The Sandbar is conveniently located at 100 Spring Avenue Anna Maria, FL 34216.
