Annie's Bait and Tackle

A Little Bit About!

I just love intercoastal dinning. You never know what you'll find next! But - you have to try Annie's Bait and Tackle. Doesn't sound like a foodie place - but that's ok by me. This is a definitely well kept secret for those in search of a fantastic grouper sandwich!

For a taste of Old Florida, you don’t want to miss Annie’s Bait and Tackle.  I know, I know, it sounds like a place that would have a lot of live bait, lures, hooks and smelly stuff.  But a little known fact is that the best grouper sandwich around can be found on this little dock with umbrellas and tables.  A little bar inside is perfect for most any drink you like.

Annie's claims to have extremely casual dining. That I can attest. Available by boat or car, but don't look for a fine dinning experience here. However, know that some of the tastiest food around, served all day long - seven days a week.

Appetizers include Alligator, Frog Legs, Fried Green Tomatoes, Garlic Shrimp and Buffalo Wings for landlubbers and inland denizens. Try the Mushroom and Swiss Burgers, Cuban's and of course don't miss out on the Grouper Sandwich.

Easy docking, usually with space available. This place is just north of the Cortez Bridge before the intercoastal, when heading to Anna Maria Island. You can't miss it on the left - big signage and tanks for 3 sizes of live shrimp (or so the sign says).

I can't wait to go back for some more grouper!
